Created in 1998 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Fire Use Training Academy is a national interagency fuels program that uniquely blends classroom and field experience on forests and rangelands across the United States.

FUTA's twenty-first session, the 2008 Fall Session, runs from October 5 to November 20.
