Frequently Asked Questions

If you complete a 'prefilled nomination form', it does NOT submit the form to anyone NOR does the nomination form go anywhere after you complete it.

It is your responsibility to save a copy of your completed form, then deliver it (via email, mail, fax, etc) to the proper person.

Usually, the person who should receive your completed nomination form is your Training Officer. Read the Session Details page for your session to see if there are any special instructions.

You should save a copy of your completed form, either as an RTF (Rich Text Format) or a PDF (Portable Document Format).

Most users will want to choose RTF: an RTF can be edited after you save it, whereas a PDF is more difficult to edit.

Many features of the website, such as sorting, filtering, and the online nomination form, will not work properly if you do not have cookies enabled. The online nomination form alsorequires that you have 'popups' enabled.

Each Geographic Area has a 'Rosters' menu item where lists of Nominations Received, Selections and Completions for each course session may be posted. Check this page first. If you don't see the list, or if your name is not listed, please contact your training officer. 

When you fill out a nomination form, it doesn't automatically enroll you into the class.

You must submit (either print or email) your nomination form to your Training Officer or the Course Coordinator. Please read more about the Nomination Process here:

The training officer must have a "training supervisor" listed on their Job Data Page, same as everyone else.  That person must go to Manager Self Service/Approve Training Request and approve the training officer's nomination.  That will move the nomination on to the next step.

The ability to submit online nominations in IQCS for your unit requires some setup beforehand.

1)  You must have either a Training Officer role, Training Coordinator role, or Nomination Coordinator role on your profile.  
2)  You must be identified on each employee's Job Data page in the Training Officer field.  

Trouble shooting:
a)  The identified roles give you the Manager Self-Service component in IQCS.  If you do not see this menu item, you are missing that role and must request it through your regional agency rep.
b)  If once you open Manager Self-Service and do not see a particular employee, you are not identified as this individual's Training Officer.  The account manager must change this on the Job Data page or Mass Changed from the Job/Pers Summary Pages

S-520 is now an annual course: it will fall on the first week in March every year.

The nomination due date is one year prior to the session start date.

The Nom Form is for individual nominations to Lower '48 sessions. The AK Nom Form is for use within Alaska for multiple nominations to a session. If you are unsure which form to use, contact your Training Officer.
