What is displayed on the Course Schedule page?
The Course Schedule is a list of Course Sessions offered nationwide. This display is complex: take your time & explore the features and information that are available to you. Hover over buttons, colored areas, and links for pop-up tips and more information.
Each row in the list represents one session of a Course and is filled with information. If the session is assigned a special status, the status is displayed in the Dates column. The Course Name column has links to session details & prework, course description, and a pre-filled Nomination form (if applicable). Links to any roster lists (selections, completions, & nominations received) will appear in this column also.
Be aware that not all course sessions will appear in the Course Schedule. Some Geographic Areas enter their 'lower level' courses (below '300') into the Course Schedule and others don't. Check the Zones, Local, Academies, and Other Training pages for each Geographic Area for more training opportunities. Contact your Training Officer for more information.
Modify the display
By default, the Course Schedule displays sessions sorted by Start Date with completed sessions hidden. Click a column heading to change the sort order. For example, you can sort by Course Code or Course Name. Switch the sort order between ascending and descending with a second click on the column heading.
You may use one or more filters to limit the display of course sessions:
- By Course: use the dropdown menu in the ~ Find a Course Session ~ section on the right to select a specific Course, and then click the find button. Click the reset button unset the filter.
- By Geographic Area: click one of the Geographic Area buttons across the top.
- Hide or include completed sessions with the button on the left.
Filters may be used in combination. For instance, if you filter by Geographic Area and course, you will see only sessions of that course held in that Geographic Area. If you don't see the results your expect, check your filters.
Print and/or save the Course Schedule
Two buttons in the upper right corner, Print Schedule and Export Schedule to Excel, allow you to print and/or save the schedule.
- Print Schedule creates a printer friendly view of the schedule. For best results, set your Page Setup to Landscape: go to File > Page Setup and File > Print Preview to check your results before printing. Use the Print link in the upper left hand corner of the printer friendly view to print the schedule.
- Export Schedule to Excel creates a course_schedule.xls spreadsheet that you can save for later. You will need Excel or another spreadsheet program to open the file.
Note: any sorts and filters you apply will also apply to your results. For example, if you filter by Northwest and sort by Course Code, your results will display only Northwest sessions sorted alphabetically by Course Code.
