Course Description:

Prescribed Fire Behavior Modeling Techniques is designed to give the trainees the technical background and hands on experience in using Nomograms and Personal Computer based Fire Behavior Prediction Systems (BEHAVE Plus, FOFEM 5 and FEIS).

Emphasis will be placed on prescribed fire planning applications.

Target Group:

Individuals needing to build qualifications for Burn Boss (RX-301), Prescribed Fire Planner, or wanting to attend Burn Boss (RX-301) or those wanting the technical background for Advanced Fire Behavior Calculations (S-490), Fire Behavior Analysis, or Prescribed Fire Behavior Analysis.

Prerequisites:

Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior Calculations (S-390).
