Course Description:

•Describe the role and responsibilities of the incident CTSP.
•Design and build a wired and wireless incident MS Windows computer network including workstations, printers, switches and router.
•Install and manage an ISUITE application and database.
•Prepare a transition document and transfer of property.
•Complete a simulation: networking an Incident Command Post and implementing ISUITE.
•Understand the importance of physical and logical security

Objectives:

The purpose of this class is to prepare an individual who works in the IT field for an assignment on a Wildland Fire or All-Risk Incident. The CTSP position requires thorough knowledge of computer networking and Microsoft Windows configuration as well as being familiar with security practices, database management, web protocols, and team dynamics .

Target Group:

This class is being offered to individuals who wish to become a Computer Technical Specialist (CTSP) for incident response. Assignments include large wildfires, hurricane aftermath as well as other natural and human-caused incidents. CTSPs build and manage the computer networks used by incident management organizaions. Candidates must have strong Information Technology skills and working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and networking.
