Course Description:
This course is designed to introduce students to the tools and techniques used in the BehavePlus computer program. The BehavePlus fire modeling system is a collection of models that describe fire behavior, fire effects, and the fire environment. It is a flexible system that produces tables, graphs, and simple diagrams and can be used for a multitude of fire management applications.
The course will be given through a Training Webinar. Invitations will be sent out directly nominees.
Objectives:
Gain an understanding of BehavePlus limitations, assumptions, design and use in prescribed fire planning and implementation, wildland fire behavior and environmental analysis.
Target Group:
Northern Rockies Geographic Area personnel involved in Wildland Fire, Prescribed Fire and NEPA projects needing to become familiar with basic fire behavior modeling skills using BehavePlus.
