Course Description:
This course is designed to give Wildland firefighters the tools to predict when and where the fire behavior will get worse or easier. How to communicate this information to other firefighters with the use of logic information and language. The students will learn how to use fire behavior tactics that are successful. The students will learn how to identify when and where the variables of fire behavior will change to avoid accidents with the use of time tagged tactics. The students will learn the four types of fire (wind driven, fuels fire, topography fire, and angry fire) and the safe tactics for each.
