Course Description:
This is a 10-day workshop sponsored by The Nature Conservancy and co-sponsored by Florida Department of Environmental Protection and designed to meet National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) training requirements for Single Resource Boss. NWCG courses included in the workshop include: I-200 Basic Incident Command System, L-280 Followership to Leadership, S-230 Crew Boss, S-200 Initial Attack Incident Commander, and S-234 Ignition Operations. The workshop will be run as an incident under the Incident Command System and will emphasize hands-on field work, including live fire exercises, directed at both prescribed and wildland fire operations. Leadership development will be provided through group discussions; working with teams with varied experience, interagency cooperation, and burning in unfamiliar fuels.
COSTS: Includes lodging and all meals.
LODGING/MEALS: This workshop will provide a “fire camp” experience at Wekiva Springs State Park, outside Orlando, FL. Participants will be housed in ‘rustic’ bunkhouses. Meals will be provided in the on-site dining hall. Tuition includes all housing costs and meals.

Target Group:
Individuals at, or working toward, Single Resource Boss or Firing Boss qualifications.
Prerequisites:
Must meet NWCG qualifications as a Firefighter Type 1 (Squad Boss), which will require have taken: S-131 (Firefighter Type 1); S-133 (Look Up, Look Down, Look Around) training and current refresher/fitness test prior to this workshop. Therefore, also meets all the FFT2 (Firefighter) qualifications: I-100, L-180, S-130, S-190.
