The Vandenberg Interagency Training Facility is located on South Vandenberg Air Force Base, Bldg. 860 and is accredited by Allan Hancock College. Credits are earned and can be applied to a Fire Science degree awarded by the college.

COURSE TUITION COST:
Standard course tuition costs have been established at the rate of $300.00 per course. A limited number of specific courses will have a higher tuition cost based on high cost of equipment or instructors.
Federal employees need to provide a Project Work Code on a Training Authorization Form, SF-182, or Government Check to process payment for attendance. All other non-federal agency employees will submit candidate names and social security numbers along with the agency billing address at time of candidate confirmation by November 1, and the agency shall be billed for course tuition costs.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations will be accepted up to 10 working days prior to the course date. The agency will be billed for the training if the allocation is not filled by another agency. Course tuition cost includes the Allan Hancock Registration fees.
LODGING/MEALS/ACTIVITIES:
PLEASE MAKE YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS. THE STAFF IS UNABLE TO CHANGE LODGING LOCATIONS.
We have arranged with several motels in the local area to provide students attending our center a reduced rate. You can call them direct and book a room. When calling, tell them that you're attending training at the Vandenberg Air Force Base. You can contact these three motels for your stay:

Note: Lodging facilities will take American Express, Master Card, and VISA, and Diners Club.
Meals are available at various fast food restaurants.
Off base attractions in the area are: La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, the city of Solvang, a quaint Danish community set in the foothills of the Los Padres, several beaches, and Santa Barbara is a one hour drive to the South.
CHILD CARE:
Child Care is available on base, either at the Child Development Center or with Air Force licensed providers on base. Please provide two weeks advance notification to the Center staff if you need this service. Cost is based on GS rating. Please call the Center Manager for help in this matter.
DIRECTIONS:
Those driving government vehicles may proceed directly to the training center on South Base. Please ensure that you have a valid state driver's license and/or government identification. Students driving in a private vehicle may need to provide vehicle registration.
Travelers arriving by air should book flights into Santa Barbara (1.5 hours) South or Santa Maria (.5 hours) North of the center. Rental cars are available at both locations.
Travelers coming from the South should take HWY 101 to HWY 1, into Lompoc. Turn left onto Ocean Ave. Drive directly to the center by going straight on Ocean 7 miles. Turn left onto Arguello Blvd. and you will arrive at the South Base entrance. Turn left at Clark, the Training Center is on the right.
Travelers coming from the north head south on HWY 101 through Santa Maria, take the Clark Avenue exit - West on Clark to HWY 135 - HWY 135 to HWY 1 follow signs to Vandenberg/Lompoc. Turn left at Hwy 1 towards Lompoc. Make a right hand turn on Santa Lucia Cyn, [3.0 Miles]. Go past the prison to the light, turn right on Central Ave. Go straight until dead end and turn left onto Union Sugar. Make a right at the stop sign which will be Ocean Ave. Turn left onto Arguello Blvd. and you will arrive at the South Base entrance. Turn left at Clark, the Training Center is on the right. Center is located on South Base on Clark Avenue, Bldg. 860.
The Surf Beach Amtrak Station is now open. Those individuals may take the Pacific Coast Starlight or the San Diegan to reach the station. The station is 3 miles west of the Training Center; arrangements can be made to provide transportation with notice.
