The Northern California Training Center is located at the Northern California Service Center and is accessible from Highways 44, 299, and Interstate 5.

Winter weather can be rainy and windy but extreme cold is not usual, with temperatures in the low 30's. Summer weather is hot and dry, with the temperatures in the high 90's. Maximums can be considerably higher. Elevation is 500 feet.

 

Uniforms or casual wear may be worn during the training sessions. Sports clothes or casual wear will also be appropriate for evenings and weekends. Raincoats are advisable during winter months. Boots, hard hats, or field clothing, if needed, will be requested by the sponsor of your session in their specific instructions.

 

Air, rail, and bus transportation are available to the Redding area. Transportation from the Airport to Redding is taxi cab, motel limousine or, an airporter bus.

 

NCTC has available, lodging, training materials, and recreation facilities and equipment. There are no meals furnished.  The tuition for our sessions include the cost of the Barracks. 

Washers and dryers are available in dormitories. You must furnish your own soap.

 

Volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and jogging are available, weather permitting. Recreation lounges are located in all dormitories with TV and reading material. There are bowling centers, theatres, golf courses, etc., in the cities of Redding and Anderson.

 

All nominations for courses sponsored by the NCTC need to be submitted by November 1.
